Beckhym
I first met Beckhym's beautiful mama, Vanessa, her husband Dylan and their first son, Carysn a few years ago. Vanessa contacted me just before Christmas when I was doing my Christmas mini sessions in 2018. Carsyn was a little over a year old and I thought they were just the sweetest, and cutest little family!
Since then, I've photographed sessions for Vanessa over the past few years from family sessions to promotional shoots for her Dance studio, Prestige Dance Company, and now being able to photograph their newest family addition, their second son, Beckhym.
I mean, look at this family! Aren't they just the cutest! Vanessa and Dylan are a match made in heaven. They have such kind, patient and gentle personalities, and you can tell how much they love and support one another. Carsyn was just so in love with his new baby brother. He kept asking when it would be his turn to hold him. He was so excited to be able to get his portrait taken with Beckhym.
You can tell these two are going to be the best of friends!
After the family portion of the session was complete, we moved on to Beckhym's solo portraits, and he was an absolute dream! He slept pretty much the whole time, minus a feeding and a diaper change, but he was such a good baby! Mom chose sage green, and cream as his themed colors, which goes amazing with his beautiful nursery that they hand built in their gorgeous new home. They loved the pop of golden mustard that I threw in for the session as well.
This is probably one of the hardest poses to get in newborn photography. It's done in multiple steps and the baby is never left to balance their head in their hands in this position. The baby is always supported by myself or the parents. To be able to attempt any type of pose with newborns, it's extremely important that the photographer is trained in newborn safety through workshops and newborn training's to safely pose newborns as I do. I have attended many workshops, and have spent many hours in newborn safety courses to be able to attempt these types of newborn poses. It is extremely important that all newborn photographers are trained in newborn safety.
